The knowledge of core networks allows us to perform extensive testing of mobile networks including access, core and signaling domains. Measurements & Benchmarking of mobile operators

Benchmarking measurements of mobile networks are the best way to perform an independent assessment of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to services between mobile operators. The philosophy of benchmarking tests is to do tests that imitate real usage of mobile services by people. They are performed as hundreds of test calls and data connections done simultaneously for all measured operators using identical test phones and modems. With ever changing usage patterns of mobile services we update our test scenario to reflect how people use their mobile services and what is really important for then when it comes to quality of experience of mobile services.

The measurements done by Swecom are performed using SwissQual Diversity test units mounted in cars or a portable SwissQual Ranger unit used for walk tests in indoor and outdoor locations. Measurements are carried out using advanced terminals and modems that can utilize the latest technologies such as LTE, HD Voice, video streaming, and multi-RAB.

Data gathered during measurements is analyzed in SwissQual NQDI post-processing system. It is an advanced database with analytical tools that enable computation of KPIs, reviewing source data and preparation of visualization of results. Preparing our reports we also use Swecom own and its partners tools that enable us to do detailed drill down analysis of specific issues discovered in tested networks.
